Kingston A400 SSD Technical Specifications Not enough performance compared to drives that are slightly more expensive. Here’s our summary of the various advantages and disadvantages of the A400 SDD, to help you decide whether it has what you’re looking for: Would you pull the trigger on this drive?ĮDIT: Apologies for the typo in the post title.Within this article, we will be covering a full review of the A400 SSD, including the following: Oh, and in terms of space, I plan on putting the original HDD drive into a USB3.0 chassis and use it as an external hd in case I need extra space. Especially since it does come with a 3-year warranty and the reviews seem to be all 4/5 or 5/5 stars. However, since I'm working with a Sata II system and want to keep the costs down, the Kingston drive makes sense. Obviously something like the Crucial MX500 and (more obviously) the Samsung 860 Evo will be faster and more reliable. However, this Kingston is an entry-level SSD drive and one of those DRAMless models. I know most of you value space and would therefore recommend something like the Firecuda SSHD with 2TB but I'm 99% sure that I won't be keeping more than 3-5 games at a time (as this PS would be my secondary console). I've been eyeing on the Kingston A400 SSD with 480 gigs of space which I can currently get for under 60 bucks. However, the tests seem to show that both the SSHDs and the SSDs do shave of seconds, even tens of seconds depending on the situation (although they's benefit more from PS4 Pro's Sata III). Now I've done my homework and know about the Sata II bottleneck that the Slim model has. However, I've been reading about the horrible loading times and as someone who likes to do some tuning, I'd be willing to buy a faster drive.

As I value low noise, low space requirements and as I have only a 55" 1080p Samsung TV (I have zero need for a 4K display), I'm perfectly happy going with the PS4 Slim instead of the Pro model. Therefore I'm probably going to pull the trigger and get one of the Black Friday deals on the cheapest PS4. So I've never owned a PS before but am tempted to try out some of the exclusives.
